I was an MPS student at De Anza College, where I earned an associate degree in Liberal Arts with an emphasis in Social and Behavioral Science in 2009.
I transferred to Santa Clara University and received my bachelor's in Sociology with a minor in Ethnic Studies in 2011, and then earned a master's degree in Counselor Education from San José State University in fall 2013.
I’ve also had the opportunity to work in the EOPS office at De Anza as a part-time counselor, and as a manager for a college access program, called Destination College Advising Corps, through UC Berkeley.

Hello my name is David Coleman and I am a counselor and instructor with the MPS program. I completed both my B.A. in Liberal Arts and my M.A. in Educational counseling at U.C. Santa Barbara. Previously I also worked at U.C. Santa Barbara as an Outreach Admissions counselor as well as a Teaching & Graduate Assistant in the Black Studies Department. I also worked as a Lecturer and Director of the Minority Engineering Program in the School of Engineering and Technology at CSU Los Angeles prior to joining De Anza College. However, I am most proud to be the Dad of three young men who are also navigating their ways through the college experience. I am located in the Physical Sciences Mathematics and Engineering Division S41A adjacent to MPS Tutoring center. Please stop by and say hello.
