Join us for a celebration of spring and new beginnings!

Nowruz will be celebrated on Thursday, March 19, 2026, in Conference Rooms A&B. This event is a community gathering that honors the shared spirit of spring and friendship. Everyone is invited to attend! Please RSVP in advance. The event will feature:

  • Cultural performances – including music, dance, poetry and art
  • Traditional snacks and sweets
  • Cultural displays and activities from different countries

The event is hosted by International Student Programs; the Office of Equity, Social Justice and Multicultural Education; Asian Pacific American Staff Association (APASA); Kyrgyz and Commonwealth of Independent States Students Association (KGIS); and Iranian Student Association (ISA).


What is Nowruz?

Nowruz marks the arrival of spring and the beginning of a new year for more than 300 million people all around the world. It has been celebrated for more than 3,000 years in the Balkans, the Black Sea Basin, the Caucasus, Central Asia, the Middle East and other regions.

It promotes the values of peace and solidarity, as well as reconciliation and neighborliness. Through Nowruz, different communities are able to honor ties among peoples, foster friendships and share cultures.
