DASG Student Talent Show
Audition Deadline Extended to This Sunday, Feb. 16
De Anza Student Government (DASG) will be hosting its first-ever talent show this spring.
If you are interested in performing, you must fill out an audition form by this Sunday, Feb. 16, at 11:59 p.m.
Auditions will take place between noon and 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 28, in ATC 120. A time slot sign-up form will be emailed to participants next Monday, Feb. 10. If you have questions, please contact Phoebe at dasgprograms@deanza.edu.
Measure G Construction Update
Large Crane on Campus This Week
A large crane will be deployed on campus this week to assist with lighting installation for the new Beach Volleyball facility on the former softball field site in the southeast part of campus.
The work is scheduled to begin tomorrow – Tuesday, Feb. 11 – and is expected to continue for one or two days.

Nowruz Celebration Is Next Wednesday, Feb. 19
International Student Programs is hosting a Nowruz celebration next Wednesday, Feb. 19, from 1-4 p.m. in Conference Rooms A&B.
Nowruz marks the arrival of spring and the beginning of a new year for more than 300 million people worldwide.
There will be traditional music and dancing, authentic snacks and more. Please RSVP in advance.
Outreach Office
Get Help With Registration
You can get help with the registration process for spring quarter by visiting the Outreach Office in RSS 146 on the following dates and times. (No appointment is needed).
- Tuesday, Feb. 25: 10:30-11:30 a.m. and 2:30-4 p.m.
- Wednesday, Feb. 26: 10:30 a.m.-noon and 2-3:30 p.m.
- Thursday, Feb. 27: 9-10:30 a.m. and 3-4:30 p.m.
This assistance is available to all students.
Euphrat Museum
Submit Artwork for the Student Art Show
The Euphrat Museum is hosting a student art show from May 6-June 7. If you would like to submit artwork for the show, please fill out the form and drop off your art on Tuesday, April 15, from 1-3 p.m., or Wednesday, April 16, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
Any form of visual art is accepted – including paintings, drawings, photographs, ceramics, sculptures, digital art, graphic design and more.
There will also be a reception and awards ceremony in the museum on Wednesday, May 21, from 4-5:30 p.m. If you have questions, contact Diana Argabrite at argabritediana@deanza.edu.
CalFresh
Student Food Assistance Program
CalFresh is California’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) that can help students buy healthy, fresh groceries. Eligible students can
receive up to $291 a month to help reduce the cost of food. It only takes a few minutes to check your eligibility

Employee Spotlight
Cheryl Owiesny Receives Coaching Honors
Longtime instructor and coach Cheryl Owiesny was recently inducted into the California Community College Soccer Coaches Association (CCCSCA) Hall of Fame, in recognition of her dedication and excellence over 30 years of coaching at De Anza.
During her career, Owiesny coached eight women’s teams to Coast Conference championships. She earned “Coach of the Year” honors numerous times at the conference, regional and national level. She’s also held leadership positions in the CCCSCA and been a strong advocate for women’s and men’s athletics. Owiesny retired from coaching in 2022 but continues to teach at De Anza.
Correction
The Quick Notes for Jan. 27 misidentified the office that was working to restore the heating in some campus buildings. The work was carried out by the district Plant Services unit.
