The Online Education Center offers workshops and training programs to assist faculty in their use of Canvas and in their hybrid and online course design.

By completing Canvas Certification Training, you will be able to use Canvas for online,
hybrid or face-to-face classes. All faculty must be certified in order to use Canvas at De Anza College.

taught remotely through Zoom. Please see our Faculty Hub under Canvas Core to learn more.

Online U - Online Teaching Readiness
For those new to online and/or hybrid teaching...
If you use Canvas for face-to-face classes and are ready to make the leap hybrid or
online, or you've minimally used Canvas features with your online courses and want
to incorporate more interaction and optimal course design, OnlineU will meet your
needs.

CVC-OEI Course Design Academy
For experienced online instructors...
We are part of the Online Education Initiative 2.0 Cohort and our faculty are now
eligible to participate in the CVC-OEI Course Design Academy. Courses that go through
this program and adhere to the OEI Course Design Rubric have an increased success rate for students. These courses also appear first in the
CVC-OEI Finish Faster catalog for cross enrollment. If you are an experienced online instructor who has taught a course for at least
one full term online, you may want to consider the Course Design Academy.
Interested faculty should first contact Brandon Gainer to set up a consultation.
