Meet the Umoja Award Winners
Congratulations to these four amazing students, who are recipients of the 2021 Umoja Awards!
Saron Gebremedhin moved to the United States from Ethiopia as a young child. “I am a first-generation college student, pursuing a degree in Business Analytics,” she said. “My favorite hobbies include painting and playing tennis.”
Justice Merriman is transferring to the University of California, Irvine and will major in Sociology. “I hope to work with students and families in the future," she said. "I enjoy connecting with nature, laughing with family, reading, artwork and creative writing.”
Abriana Holliday is graduating with degrees in Law Enforcement and in Liberal Arts (Social and Behavioral Sciences Emphasis.) "I have a love for the creative and aspirational," she said, "and I hope to incorporate these sentiments into the passions I pursue onward.”
Falicity Mitchell plans to transfer to California State University, Dominguez Hills, and ultimately wants to become a psychologist for preteens to young adults. "When I have some free time," she said, "I enjoy singing, camping with my loved ones and reading.”
