Pearson MyEnglishLab

We have two Pearson software programs available free for ESL students. These can be used by students remotely at english.com

Pearson English Interactive (levels 2-4)
Pearson Focus on Grammar  (levels 1-5)

We have purchased student codes in bulk for these two programs, which ESL instructors can request and then distribute to students. Instructors can monitor student usage and (optionally) assign specific activities. Written instructions are available to help students get started with using the software from their homes.

Here is some basic information about the Pearson software from Marcy Betlach:

Pearson English Interactive (PEI) is an integrated skills course that centers around a story presented in a video.  It includes listening, speaking, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, reading and writing.  You can assign all the activities or just choose the skills to fit your class.  Here are how the levels correspond to our courses:

ESL 234/434 --> PEI-2 -- Pearson English Interactive (level 2)
ESL 244/444 --> PEI-3 -- Pearson English Interactive (level 3)
ESL 251/451 --> PEI-4 -- Pearson English Interactive (level 4)
ESL 261/461 --> PEI-4 -- Pearson English Interactive (level 4)

Focus on Grammar (FOG) is an excellent online program that can supplement grammar or writing classes.  You do not need to be using the Focus on Grammar text.  Here are how the levels correspond to our courses:

ESL 200/400 --> FOG-1 -- Pearson Focus on Grammar  (level 1)
ESL 234/434 --> FOG-2 -- Pearson Focus on Grammar  (level 2)
