The goal of Student Learning Outcomes work is to create and embed ongoing processes and procedures, developed and led by De Anza faculty and staff, to identify and evaluate specific observable characteristics or results that provide evidence of learning achieved through a particular course, program, activity, or process. The college has created three assessment unit types:
- Student Learning Outcomes (SLO) - Faculty as assessors assessing instructional outcomes at the course, program, and institutional levels.
- SSLO - Staff and faculty as assessors assessing student service outcomes (SSLO Handbook & Presentation).
- Administrative Unit Outcomes (AUO) - Administrative leaders, faculty and support personnel assessing administrative outcomes.
