Proposal Submission

The annual Partners in Learning Conference will take place Friday, May 8, from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m., on Zoom. This year’s conference, “In Celebration of Promising Practices,” will focus on lifting up and celebrating the amazing things happening in our campus community. It is designed to be a recognition of your incredible work and dedication.

All employees are invited to submit proposals for the conference. Employee presentations should focus on “promising practices” that support student engagement and success. These can include thoughtful approaches to complexities, successful pedagogical strategies, innovative assignments and assessments, meaningful strategies and services, intentionally designed programs or anything that you are excited to share with your colleagues.

Students are also invited to submit proposals for the conference. These presentations should focus on positive experiences students have had at De Anza that support student engagement and success. These can include incredible classroom experiences, assignments with faculty members or meaningful interactions with Student Services and other offices.

All presentations should be either 20 or 50 minutes in length. A variety of presentation styles and formats are welcome – you can tell stories, share a PowerPoint, premiere a film or approach it in another unique way. Please submit your proposal before March 20 – the sooner the better! Applicants will be notified and given additional information by March 27.

If you have questions, please reach out to faculty development coordinator Sal Breiter.

This event is hosted by the Office of Professional Development.

Please sign in at each workshop on the day of the conference to receive PGA credit, full-time faculty member professional development hours or part-time faculty member pay. Presenters will earn credit equal to three times the length of their presentation, to account for preparation time.
