Please Help the People of Haiti
January 14, 2010
Dear Colleagues,
We have all been stunned by the news of devastation and death following the earthquake in Haiti. The poorest of our hemispheric neighbors, Haiti is probably the least able among all nations to absorb these kinds of blows or recover quickly. They need our help, soon and in abundance.
I urge everyone to take a moment to donate generously to the relief efforts in Haiti. Please use any of the following avenues:
You can also use your cell phone to text "Haiti" to 90999. A reply will prompt you to confirm a $10 donation (through your phone bill) to the Red Cross for Haitian relief efforts. Please be aware that it may take some time to receive an initial response.
We will work with members of our De Anza family to identify projects aimed at rebuilding schools in Haiti once the immediate relief process transitions to reconstruction. But right now the Haitian people need the immediate help offered by the organizations above. I urge you to give now.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Brian Murphy
