Cedric Buenviaje | ICC Chairperson

- Why I joined the ICC: Community college is much more than just two years spent trying to transfer. I believe that students deserve an experience that makes their time at De Anza memorable and joining the ICC is how I plan to make this happen.

- Why I joined the ICC: I believe in an ever shrinking, ever more diverse world a genuine sense of pluralism is indispensable for human peace and progress. ICC is a platform that believes in the ethic of pluralism. It does not eliminate differences but embraces differences and our strength lies in our differences. Through ICC I intend to work in a pluralistic climate and build bridges of peace and equity.

- Why I joined the ICC: I decided to join the ICC based on the communities/experiences I was able to discover through being a member of clubs on campus. I'd like to help other students acclimate to De Anza and find their own unique community on campus since being a student at a commuter community college is extremely hard. I look forward to meeting everyone and making new friends!

- Why I joined the ICC: Being a member of clubs myself and seeing the favorable impacts they had on students, especially during the pandemic when we were unable to socialize, form friendships, and experience college life. Being a member of ICC and serving as the Chair of Programs gives me a fantastic opportunity to directly participate in the student body that plans and hosts college events while also supporting clubs that are essential to college life. The ICC is a great opportunity to embrace diversity and inclusivity among students who are part of a multicultural community. At ICC, I want to ensure that students enjoy themselves at De Anza and create lifelong memories.

- Hobbies: My hobbies are mostly based around sports. I am a judoka, and a wrestler. Once in a while I like to play billiards.
- Why I joined the ICC: De Anza became much more fun for me after I got involved into clubs and met new students. My goal here is to help our our clubs to have unique events that are memorable. Making connections is also important to me and ICC has great people.

- Why I joined the ICC: I joined ICC because I love meeting new people and making new friends. Going to college is scary but also exciting, and I want to help other students have a fun and blissful time here at De Anza.

- Hobbies: Film photography! I love having to wait to use a roll of film, forgetting what memories I captured and seeing how my photos turned out after some time.
- Why I joined the ICC: Going into my 2nd year of CC, I have learned the more you involve and apply yourself on campus, the more unique experiences and amazing people you are bound to meet! I enjoy being involved in programs where I'm able to help and have a sense of community.

- Why I hope to get from working at the Office of College Life & Inter Club Council: I joined the ICC because it not only opens up an opportunity for me to meet new people, but also allows me to learn many new skills such as leadership, time management and more. I also believe that ICC is one of the coolest organizations that we have in the school because of the positive impact that they have created on us college students lives by either hosting interesting new events or assisting other clubs, and I felt like being a part of this is truly going to be a great experience.

- Why I joined De Anza's Office of College Life: I've had the chance to work in some great college spaces, but I'm excited for this role in strengthening student involvement and development opportunities for community college students. I know from experience that college is really what we make it. Regardless of what one's goals and aimed pathway look like, I know any student can have a meaningful experience here at De Anza by getting involved.
