Are You Registered to Vote?
California will hold a statewide special election on Nov. 4, 2025, asking voters to approve or reject Proposition 50.
Every vote counts! It's important for college students to register and vote, so you can have your say on decisions affecting your community, state and nation. If you're 18 or older, and a U.S. citizen, you can register by Monday, Oct. 20, to vote this year.
You'll find more information about upcoming elections by visiting the De Anza Votes webpage at deanza.edu/vote.
- The deadline to register is Monday, Oct. 20, in order to receive a vote-by-mail ballot for the Nov. 4 election.
- Ballots are being mailed to all registered voters. Ballot drop-off locations opened on Oct. 7.
- You can vote by mail as soon as you receive your ballot.
Even if you miss the Oct. 20 voter registration deadline, you may still be eligible to cast a conditional ballot in person through Nov. 4.
You can see if you're already registered to vote by checking the Secretary of State's registration website. Once you're registered, you can vote in any of these ways:
- Mail in your ballot as soon as you fill it out — but no later than Election Day. Postage is free!
- Drop off your ballot at an official Ballot Drop Box anytime, or at your county elections office during regular business hours. If you're registered to vote in Santa Clara County, you can use the drop box on campus. You'll find it on the sidewalk outside the RSS Building, near the entrance that faces Staff/Student Lot A. Or you can find a drop box near you by checking the county elections website.
- Bring your completed ballot to any county Vote Center, or vote in person at a Vote Center using a new ballot. Vote Centers will be open Oct. 25-Nov. 4. Find one near you by checking the county elections website.
