Physical Geography
Course Description
An introduction to the basic physical elements of geography and the diverse physical environment in which we live. Topics include the global patterns of weather and climate, landforms, soils and vegetation along with human modification of natural environments. The geographic tools used to explore these topics include maps, GPS, remote sensing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

GEO -001.02Z: Fully ONLINE. This is an 8-week class and begins the week of February 2, 2026. This is an online class with SOME scheduled meetings as noted in the class listing. The rest of the class can be completed independently each week on the student's own time. Students must have access to a computer, the internet and an individual email address. We recommend a laptop or desktop computer to successfully complete the course; a tablet or phone may not be adequate for all assignments and tests.
