Physical Anthropology

Course Description

Introduction to biological aspects of humans. A bio-cultural and an evolutionary approach is used to understand human variation and human evolution. Issues and topics will include, human variation and its adaptive significance, biological and behavioral evolution of humans, comparative primate anatomy and behavior, evolutionary theory, and the impact of cultural, technological and environmental change on human biology and behavior.

ANTH-001.-51Z-: This is an 8-week class and begins the week of February 6, 2026.This is an online class that does not have scheduled meetings. Students can log in anytime to do the required weekly course work. Students must have access to a computer, the internet and an individual email address. We recommend a laptop or desktop computer to successfully complete the course; a tablet or phone may not be adequate for all assignments and tests.
