Course Description

This introductory course enhances soccer skills while incorporating a global perspective and recognizing contributions from both male and female experts and players. Emphasis is placed on the four major pillars of the game: technical ability, tactical understanding, physical fitness, and the mental approach necessary for successful match play. Strategies and tactics will be discussed and practiced, along with an introduction to the laws of the game, equipment, fair play, flexibility, nutrition, and key nuances of soccer. Students will be encouraged to use the Internet and other media sources to deepen their understanding of the world’s most popular sport.
