Discussion with President Holmes
Dr. Holmes expressed the expectations for this Task force
- Emphasized the importance of this project as a reset, and to forgo all previous plannings
- To take examine existing information and new information that the task force gathers
- This task force is making recommendations about where we need to be going in terms of construction on our campus.
- Assess what our needed as a campus is, and stay in continuous communication with our constituency groups for the most up-to-date information
- Come back with some either new or upgraded space for our arts folks.
- Come back with flexible multi-use space that can accommodate major gatherings. Multi-purpose space larger than current conference rooms A+B, with inclusion of partitioned spaces that can be used in different ways
In regards to letter from Susan Cheu:
Asking this group to identify a direction, so that Susan’s area can use these possible options and price things out. The role of the Task Force is to come up with options so the options can be passed off to Susan, and we do the work with an open mind. We must update our facilities master plan, but after we understand the direction the task force is going in.
In terms of consultants. We don’t need any at the moment. We want to use this committee to brainstorm, and we can bring consultants in later.
Tina L: So will you be working with, Vice Chancellor Chu and the board that the reallocation of money is not completed until we're done.
Lloyd H: yes, will make sure De Anza dollars stay at De Anza.
Task force agreed to get an extension for the details asked for in the email from Susan Cheu from Wednesday May 31 to after Monday June 5.

Friday, June 2nd – Tour of campus & have discussion about what we saw
Friday, June 9th – Task force meeting – invite President and give the information for the June 12 board meeting.
