The team has several competitions scheduled during winter and spring, including hosting the Northern California Pairs Championships in May.

- With the start of fall quarter, the first students have moved into McClellan Terrace, the residential apartment complex in Cupertino that was acquired by the Foothill-De Anza district to provide more housing options for students at De Anza and Foothill College.
- In September, the Board of Trustees approved a contract with Swinerton Builders to begin design work and other preliminary work related to development of a new Creative Arts Building.
- Construction is nearly complete for the new Beach Volleyball competition facility at De Anza. Watch for more information about a formal opening ceremony later this fall.
Spring 2025: Student Housing
The Foothill-De Anza district Board of Trustees voted on March 10 to approve a purchase and sale agreement for the 94-unit residential apartment complex located at 7918 McClellan Road in Cupertino, with the intent of converting it to affordable student housing. The property, located less than a half mile from the De Anza College campus, will provide space for up to 332 Foothill and De Anza students following renovation. Project costs would be funded under Measure G. For more information and updates, please see the district Student Housing webpage.
Winter 2025: Creative Arts Building

The district Board of Trustees has taken key steps that will enable moving forward with planning for a new Creative Arts Building on the Flint Center site, in the first phase of a multi-stage effort that also includes construction of a new Services for Students Building.
Trustees voted unanimously on Jan. 13, 2025 to begin the design process and authorize transferring $39.7 million in Measure G funds for the Creative Arts project. These actions came after a reconvened college Measure G Task Force gave unanimous approval on Sept. 25, 2024 for allocating funds to the Creative Arts project. With the authorization, funds can be spent for more detailed planning and developing a final budget for the project.
The current work draws on earlier recommendations from the task force and was endorsed by Interim President Christina G. Espinosa-Pieb following consultation with the Creative Arts Division. The first phase is also expected to include construction of a new utility building that will be needed after demolition of the outdated Flint Center and relocation of some existing infrastructure. The Flint Center demolition was completed in spring 2025.
Interim President Espinosa-Pieb reconvened the task force in June after the Board of Trustees voted on May 6, 2024, to re-allocate Measure G funds that had been earmarked for construction of a new Event Center on the Flint Center site. The board decision provided $55 million to De Anza for use as prioritized by the college, in addition to earlier allocations for the Services for Students Building and other projects.
Background on Measure G
Ballot Measure G, approved by Foothill-De Anza district voters in 2020, authorized bonds to raise up to $898 million for needed upgrades and renovation of facilities, classrooms and labs, and to acquire and construct facilities, equipment and sites for both De Anza and Foothill College.
At De Anza, the bond-funded work includes demolition of the outdated Flint Center – which the district decided in 2019 to close, after considering costs of seismic upgrades and other needed improvements – and construction of new infrastructure to serve the campus.
Additional projects include
- Renovating the Physical Education complex including the gymnasium and pool
- Upgrading fire alarm and fire suppression systems
- Modernizing building interiors and exteriors
- Renovating restrooms in several buildings
- Improving roadways and pathways
-
Expanding wireless networking across the campus
- Modernizing building exteriors and roofing
- Campuswide infrastructure upgrades and improvements
- Converting an existing athletic field to a competition facility for the Beach Volleyball athletics team
