Strong Workforce Funds Review (First Read)
The committee looked at a few items before resuming their work in small groups.
One of the things that RAPP looks at is the strong workforce funding. The strong workforce gets reviewed by the CTE committee, which took place last week. And then it comes to us for review. So he'll talk about the local share and the regional share, which are both linked here.
This is the first read and we'll bring it back next week for approval. So if you feel like this is something that needs to go back to your constituency group for review, you'll have a week to do so.
Vins Chacko went over the following two documents
Local Share and Regional Share
Strong Workforce Program - Local Share
This is the strong workforce local budget proposal. Vins worked with department chairs and division deans to create their department budget as laid out in the proposal. It was approved unanimously at last week's CTE committee meeting.
One of the main changes was the loss of 20% because of the state's initiative of rebuilding the nursing program. De Anza lost almost $120,000. They were able to distribute the allocated funds to all the departments for their projects.
Strong Workforce Program - Regional Share
The local consortia hosts and provides the regional share to the college for the instructional and non-instructional salaries and some support services. The Regional Allocation for De Anza is $646,693.00. De Anza’s contribution toward the RJV regional joint venture for regional projects is $25,000.00. Total Balance $621,693.00 (available for 2-year projects.)
Annual Program Review Updates
Voting members in their respective working groups went into separate breakout rooms to continue their review work on the Annual Program Review Updates.
