TBD PGA Quick Start: From PD Events to Pay Increase Many FHDA classified employees miss out on Professional Growth Award opportunities simply because the process feels overwhelming. This workshop changes that. We are breaking down the barriers to submission, providing a process you can follow, and introducing you to the people who review your application. TBD Implicit Bias Training: Understanding and Recognizing Implicit Bias A practical training focused on how unconscious attitudes and assumptions can influence decision-making, workplace interactions, and outcomes. The session introduces what implicit bias is, why it exists, and how it can affect areas such as hiring, evaluation, supervision, and everyday workplace experiences. Participants will explore research-based examples of how bias operates and learn practical strategies to reduce it's impact, including increasing self-awareness, slowing decision-making, and using more intentional, evidence-based approaches. This training is appropriate for faculty, staff, and administrators and supports Foothill-De Anza's commitment to equity, inclusion, and fair employment practices. TBA Tony Brown

TBD Sanctuary in Practice: FHDA Commitments and Our Collective Role This 90-minute workshop explores Foothill-De Anza's Sanctuary District commitments and what they mean in practice for students, faculty, and staff. Participants will learn about two recently passed District resolutions, how they protect undocumented and mixed-status communities, and the shared responsibility we have to uphold them. The session also includes UndocuAlly training to help participants moce from awareness to action so our campus culture reflects the policies we've adopted. TBA Pauline Brown
TBD Sustainable Self-Care: Simple Practices for Daily Resilience This interactive workshop explores practical, sustainable approaches to self-care that support emotional regulation, focus, and long-term well-being. Participants will reflect on the purpose of self-care, share personal strategies, and experience brief guided movement (qi gong or gentle yoga) and sitting practices. The session concludes with time for reflection and developing a realisitic daily commitment plan. Participants will leave with concrete tools they can integrate into busy professional lives. TBD Maxient in Action: Stories, Support & Restorative Care Every day, classified professionals are often the first hello, the first concern, and sometimes the first person a student turns to in a tough moment. You are the heart of campus life. This dynamin, interactive workshop unpacks how Maxient supports student care, accountability, and safety and how it also protects and supports you. We'll walk through real campus scenarios, share success stories, and explore practical tools for handling difficult situations with confidence and care. You'll learn what happens after a report is submitted and why your documentation matters more than you think. TBD AI in the Real World: A Classified Staff Perspective This session offers a grounded, practical look at how artificial intelligence can support the daily work of classified professionals in higher education. Drawing from real work-place examples, the presentation focuses on responsible, ethical, and human-centered uses for AI for communication, understanding complex information, and improving efficiency without compromising judgement, confidentiality, or professional standards.
