The Heritage Month Workgroup is but one of many groups in the De Anza College learning community working to create an environment where every person feels valued, nurtured, connected, and engaged.
About the Workgroup
The De Anza College Heritage Month Workgroup advises on and develops an annual heritage month calendar, identity recognition days calendar, and multifaith calendar.
The purpose of the workgroup is to:
- Acknowledge and celebrate the contributions of historically marginalized cultural groups,
- Raise awareness about accomplishments, triumphs, innovations, issues, histories, and traditions that have not been acknowledged widely in curricula and culture, and
- Provide De Anza administrators, communications teams, and DEI-focused groups/offices with a unified calendar for event and outreach planning.
We are grateful to engage in this work with the support of De Anza Student Government (DASG).
Spring 2023 Meeting (June 7, 2023)
- See you there from 1:30-3:00 PM on Zoom. Our workgroup is open to students, faculty, classified professionals, and all learning community members.
