- Ann: La Voz won awards at conference on Saturday; newspaper comes out next Tuesday.
Advisor Announcements
- Maritza: For an excused absence, contact DASG President, DASG Chair of Admin, Maritza
and DASG Secretary in advance. It needs to be an email not a DM to one person; this
includes for excused absences within committees but to also include the chair of that
committee. No excuses moving forward.
- For those representing RAPP, the position for the permanent position for the faculty director of college life is part of the discussion. Do not let this go overlooked, we need to ensure everyone's positions are permanent as it directly affects you as a senate.
- Last senate meeting that Maritza will be attending until November 4, 2025, Hyon Chu will be stepping in while she is out.
- Maliah: Please state what shared governance committee you are part of clearly so that I can record accurate minutes.
- Dennis: Make sure all motions and corrections are detailed and accurate in the minutes and specify exactly what the motion is for.
Senate Announcements
- SRE: Resource Fair was a success on 10/28; all boba ran out within the first 30 minutes
and look forward to doing it again next quarter.
- SNAP Benefits are at risk of being cut off starting 11/1; resources will be shared with students for assistance with food needs. Some restaurants offering meals for families if needed; checkout the Hub.
- Adriana met to discuss Student Rights and Equity pLAN.
- Min: The Santa Clara County chapter of PERIOD, a youth-led nonprofit promoting menstrual
equity, is organizing a menstrual product drive to support local women and students
in need.They’re looking for clubs interested in volunteering, helping with collection,
or co-hosting awareness efforts.

- Elora: None.
External Shared Governance Committee Reports
- College Planning: Met on 10/23 working on drafting strategic plan including overall enrollment at De Anza.
- Committee Online Learning: How to use AI responsibly and spread out the survey to all parties.
- District Diversity & Equity Advisory Committee (DDEAC): Intro to DASG Representatives will be Dali and review the district equity plan and establish a new subcommittee to work with them; overall brainstorming.
Internal DASG Committee Reports
- Marketing: Working to promote DASG as a whole.
- Student Rights & Equity: Resource Fair went well, boba ran out quickly and had many attendees.
- Events: Homecoming guests ~ 350 participants!
- ICC: No longer accepting new club applicaitons for the Fall 2025 quarter; exploring a partnership with Phi Theta Kappa club to work on an events calendar.
