  PHYSICS IN ACTION (Grades 9-12) (585*)
This class is designed to foster creativity while exploring physics. Students will learn fundamental principles that are foundational to high school physics,
in a framework that promotes critical thinking, open-ended discussion and solution-oriented investigation. This highly interactive, hands-on class is perfect for students who are curious about how and why things work.
Instructor: Veronica Galang has been an educator for more than 20 years, teaching astronomy, biology, chemistry, nanotechnology and physics. She has a master’s degree in physics and enjoys helping students apply critical and analytical thinking to understand the relationships between diverse concepts.

Session 1: Jan. 9, 16, 23 and 30, Feb. 6, 13 and 27, March 6 (eight Saturdays; no class on Feb. 20), 11 a.m.-12:20 p.m.
Session 2: March 13, 20 and 27, April 3, 17 and 24, May 1 and 8 (eight Saturdays; no class on April 10), 11 a.m.-12:20 p.m.
PSAT WRITING AND LANGUAGE PREPARATION
(Grades 7-9) (542*)
This course will help students
develop a personalized plan for PSAT preparation, and provide extensive practice opportunities for the Reading, Writing and Language sections of
the PSAT. Students will follow a
plan for vocabulary enhancement
and use class time to focus on skills development – including evidence- based interpretations, applying context in analysis, and using organization and structure for sentences, passages and essays.
Instructor: Bina Barnabas grew up in India, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in education and a master’s
in English literature. For more than 40 years, she has taught ranging in age from 5 to 75 in India, Japan and the United States. She especially enjoys teaching language arts to middle schoolers. She likes to read and play with paper, fabric, needle and thread.
