ARTS 1A TEST 3:  FRIDAY, DEC. 11. 7:00AM-9:00AM. SET YOUR ALARM!  IT'S REALLY EARLY!

These seemingly regimented procedures for managing exams in large classes are intended to protect honest students and maintain an atmosphere conducive to academic integrity. Plan accordingly.

*The Bookstore is not open at 7AM so get your Scantron today, or at least by Thursday..

*Don't be late, test must end 9AM. After 7:00, you will have to wait until 7:30 when I will open door for latecomers.

*I reserve the right to assign/reassign seats.

*Don't bring your stuff. All hats, coats, extra clothing, backpacks, books, notebooks, tote bags, gym bags, and other "stuff" must be placed on the stage for the entire test period and there is no security to protect them.

*Notes, books, dictionaries, or electronics are NOT permitted, not even for International students. Turn off your cell. If you take it out for any reason, your test is over.

*Test is not cumulative. For test content, refer to Study Guide for weeks 9, 10, 11 on instructor website.

Part 1 OBJECTIVE Qs: Mark answer on SCANTRON. (70% of test points)

There will be about 37-39 objective questions to answer on a Scantron form. (35 Qs plus extra credit) Anyone who has a question on vocabulary or a question about the test can come and ask me AFTER they have finished all of the other questions. Obviously I cannot give hints for art vocabulary you should have learned this quarter.

Part 2: WRITTEN Qs: Write answers on the TEST. (30% of test points)

AFTER you have submitted your Scantron and Part 1 questions, you may pick up Part 2, the written questions, and your style sheets. (You may use only your own style sheets for this part of the test. Sharing is not permitted.) Use back of test for scratch paper. NO OTHER NOTES, BLANK PAPER, BOOKS, DICTIONARIES, ELECTRONICS ARE PERMITTED. Any violation will result in a grade of zero points for the essay (which is worth 30% of points for the test). Put your name on every page, because they will be separated for grading. Answers must be in your own words. If you copied them from a source, you must clearly explain in your own words to get credit. I expect an Arts 1A writing style. There is no credit for "academia-speak" (since none of you have demonstrated it before).

I will select 3 Written Questions from list below. Each question is worth 10% of the test grade. This is a test of your learning. Answers must be in your own words, legible, accurate and specific to get credit. There is no credit for trivial details that anyone could answer without taking an Arts 1A class. Pen is preferred. Pencil is acceptable. Proper essay form NOT required: Usually phrases or a list are appropriate and completely adequate.)
