certification exam.
For the major, complete the same prerequisites and requirements listed for the Medical Laboratory Technology Certificate of Achievement-Advanced (see above) and meet De Anza’s A.A./A.S. degree requirements.

A.A. Degree
This A.A. degree program provides a foundation in music for students interested in a career in the musical entertainment industry or pursuing a bachelor's degree in Music. Students are encouraged to take private instruction (not provided by the college) each term along with classes in their specialization.
Program Learning Outcomes - upon completion, students will be able to:
• Demonstrate, through successful public performance,
a synthesis of technique, memory, musicality and stage
presence in both group and solo presentations.
• Demonstrate proficiency equivalent to national lower-division
curriculum standards in music literacy for all historical
periods, ear training and keyboard harmony.
• Distinguish musical cultures, historical periods, forms
and composers from each other while demonstrating an
understanding of the roles of music in human culture.
• Produce, notate and perform music using contemporary
technologies.
